Theresa and Brian Harris
Whether you love taking your dog hiking or you prefer to lie in a hammock with them all day, quality time with our pets is always too short. That’s why it’s important to make sure they are as healthy and happy as possible – and that often starts with feeding them the right food.
I’m Theresa Harris and I own Pet Wants Indianapolis with my husband, Brian. Brian and I opened this business because of our own experience with our dog, Winston. When we adopted Winston at 3 years old, we were his sixth family. Winston has terrible food and environmental allergies, so people would fall in love with his face and then realize how much work he was every day. For those first two years, we had a lot of vet visits and rigorous food testing. Finally I was home cooking salmon and rice for him and it was working, but it wasn’t a complete diet.
At Pet Wants, our specially-crafted pet food formulas are made in small batches with fresh, natural ingredients enhanced with vitamins and minerals for a complete and balanced diet in every bowl. We offer multiple blends of dog and cat food formulas as well as healing salve, calming balm, anti-itch spray, paw wax and more. Pet Wants Indy delivers to Zionsville, Carmel, Westfield, Fishers, Indianapolis and the surrounding areas.
Prior to Pet Wants, I built my career in advertising. Although Brian is still working full-time in advertising, I needed a change. In 2015, I was diagnosed with cancer, and I had surgery and radiation. In that time I realized I wanted to do something that gave back some of the unconditional love I get from our pets. And if anything can help you realize that time is short, cancer is it. That was our sign to do something to support pets, friends and our community in a new way.
For us, owning Pet Wants is about giving people access to convenient, high-quality, fresh pet food options that offers complete nutrition for happy, healthy pets. We have a limited amount of time with our pets, so making the most out of every day is important. Every day of quality time is precious and food can make a difference in their quality of life.
